New to Princess....

Moose Tracks

We've decided it's time to give Princess a try and are looking at one of the 10-day Caribbean cruises on Emerald. There are some other cruise ships out there that have problems with vibration and/or noise. We'll be looking at a balcony cabin somewhere around mid-ship, deck 10-12 sandwiched between other decks with cabins. Just wondering if there are any negative issues with Emerald.

Thanks.

Lynn

No issues here - we have been on the Emerald 3X and taking another 10 day on her again next year!:D

I am sure you will enjoy her - she has great lounges and the stuffed olives & cheese styx are to die for.;)

Book it & Enjoy your cruise!!

This will be my 6th cruise on Princess. I have never had a noise problem except hearing a door of a neighboring cabin every now and then.

We cruised on the Emerald last April ...and LOVED it. It is a beautiful ship. Our room was a Balcony stateroom mid-ship I believe on the 9th deck... no issues at all. Our traveling companions also had Balcony rooms on the same deck .... we all had a great time. Have Fun:)

Welcome to Princess, Lynn...

We recently did a B2B aboard the Emerald and had a fantastic time. We've booked the same B2B for next year.

You should be aware when booking a balcony cabin that those located on Caribe deck have the largest balconies of any regular cabin on the ship at about 9'x9' vs 9'x5' for cabins on other decks. The interior of the cabin will be the same as other regular (non-suite) cabins. The balconies on Caribe deck are half covered so you can be out in the sun or in the shade as you desire.

Our preference is a cabin from about mid-ship toward the aft end for the smoothest ride. Cabins aft of the aft elevator are very quiet since there is very little hallway traffic.

Thanks, Lew. That's great to know. We'll probably go for one of those cabins.

Thanks all for your reassurances that we'll enjoy sailing Emerald. Unfortunately, it isn't going to be until 2013, but I'm already getting excited about trying a new cruise line. :D

Hey Lynn - if it's April 16, 2013 that's the one we are taking - come over to the roll-call section, there is one started already for that cruise.:D

Right now we're looking at March 27, 2013, but we've only just decided today to try Princess so we might change. It might be worthwhile going with the April 16th as that will be low season so we won't need to use as many Air Miles to fly to Ft. Lauderdale.

Really love the size of the balcony on the Caribe deck. We might spring for the extra $$ to get the high-backed chairs. Although, never had a balcony where people can look down on you.

We have spent alot of time on the Emerald, and will be on her for 20 days later this month. We also will be on board for the March 17th and 27th sailings in 2013, so we might meet you then.

Lots of moose tracks in our area of Ontario, too:D

We don't see too many moose tracks in Toronto:D. It's my favourite flavour of ice cream!

Wow...we've already met two people we could be sailing with!
