Tampa Rental Car Confusion!

Sorry, but I'm really confused about renting a car from the Port of Tampa.

 

I've done searches and have "done my homework", and I'm still confused! I know someone here can help me...

 

We need to pick up a car at the Port of Tampa after our cruise. We will return it to the Tampa airport. I've read here that there is a Hertz office at the port that will take you across the street to get your car. The Hertz site says pickup is at the Mariott Waterside only. I'm hesitate to just book on line until I know exactly WHERE AND HOW we will get our car!

 

Anyone have recent experience with this?? I will so appreciate your help!

I can't help you with Hertz, but we used National at TPA last spring and they offered free shuttles to the port and also back to TPA after your cruise - good luck! :)

if the pickup is at the marriott, it is about 3 or 4 blocks from the pier...not far at all....

 

you can CALL them and ask exactly where it is located..

 

from what i read they use the location at the marriott though they MAY drop some cars off at the pier...

 

the marriott location DOES have pick up and they have an email...if you click where it says more info about a location it pops up

 

as an aside, i rented from another Hertz Local edition and used the email for that location..they were really good about getting back to me....

The Hertz place is not exactly at the port but at the Waterside Marriott which is close to the port

The Marriott Waterside is 2 long city blocks from the port. It would be a matter of a cheap and short taxi ride if Hertz does not pick up from the port. Good luck.
