JoTop Posted March 5, 2012 #1 Share Posted March 5, 2012 We were first supposed to go to CoCo Cay and now we are going to the Nassua. Does anyone know how long CoCo Cay will be closed? I wished it would be open in May! My DD was really looking forward to the bouncing things on the ocean. Could this change...again?

Don't think Oasis does Coco Cay at anytime, Coco Cay is a tender port and Oasis and Allure don't tender. Also was not aware that Coco Cay had closed:confused:
JoTop Posted March 5, 2012 Author #3 Share Posted March 5, 2012 Is this RCL own island?
time4u2go Posted March 5, 2012 #4 Share Posted March 5, 2012 Is this RCL own island? Yes it is, but Oasis still doesn't go there.
dodgersmom Posted March 5, 2012 #5 Share Posted March 5, 2012 Oasis has never done Coco Cay. It will only do ports it can dock on. The alternate itinerary does Labadee. Maybe they have the same type of excursions
Tyler80 Posted March 5, 2012 #6 Share Posted March 5, 2012 So maybe OP is confusing Coco Cay with Labadee?

ssb Posted March 5, 2012 #8 Share Posted March 5, 2012 Even with the smaller ships who have to tender into Coco Cay Bahamas, cruisers have a high chance of not getting into island because of rough seas.

It is very rare that we don't get into CocoCay. We go on Majesty about 6 times a year and maybe once a year, mostly not even that much, do we not get in. Love CocoCay But like the others have said, Oasis does not go into cococay since it is a tender, it has always gone to Nassau on the Eastern route. You have had good luck then, based on staff comments to us on Monarch of Seas with their statistics mentioned, and number of days over a certain period not being able to get into Cay!! They were telling us how lucky we were also!

On the Eastern route, Oasis always goes to Nassau and never to Coco Cay.

Patsfan3 Posted April 9, 2012 #13 Share Posted April 9, 2012 Do they use life boats to tender into Coco from the Freedom?
SpeedGeek Posted April 9, 2012 #14 Share Posted April 9, 2012 Do they use life boats to tender into Coco from the Freedom? No. Coco Cay has a number of permanently stationed flat bottom boats for tendering.

Pumbaamd Posted April 10, 2012 #17 Share Posted April 10, 2012 No. Coco Cay has a number of permanently stationed flat bottom boats for tendering. Some of which came from Labadee after they built the pier there. R&D

F27TW Posted April 10, 2012 #19 Share Posted April 10, 2012 Oasis has never done Coco Cay. It will only do ports it can dock on. I'm curious why the no-tendering rule for Oasis/Allure?
Ocean Boy Posted April 10, 2012 #20 Share Posted April 10, 2012 I'm curious why the no-tendering rule for Oasis/Allure? 6000 passengers..... too long a process.
F27TW Posted April 11, 2012 #21 Share Posted April 11, 2012 6000 passengers..... too long a process. That makes sense. Plus I don't think I could picture 6000 people on Coco Cay at once anyway
cnee Posted April 11, 2012 #22 Share Posted April 11, 2012 We were at Coco Cay last week as well. We were on the Enchantment. It was incredibly crowded, and long lines everywhere. Having been to another lines private island - we were HORRIBLY disappointed.
Ander026 Posted April 11, 2012 #23 Share Posted April 11, 2012 That makes sense. Plus I don't think I could picture 6000 people on Coco Cay at once anyway A couple of years ago they had both Freedom of the Seas and I believe either Liberty or Independence both at Coco Cay for the Bud Light Port Paradise. matj2000 Posted April 11, 2012 #24 Share Posted April 11, 2012 I would not fuss about it too much. It really is not that great of a port stop anyway..
