9.00am flights 7.00am docking

There are usually several hundred passengers wanting to do the self-assist disembarkation, taking their own luggages. To be among the first in line, you'd want to start lining up in the early hours. So plan on little sleep.

After rushing through everything to get to the exit. You'll need to catch the taxi to get to airport right away. There better not be any traffic to slow you down.

It's remotely possible, if everything works perfectly. But any hitch, you'll miss the flight.

There is not even a remote chance of making a 9:00 flight. The ship may dock at 7 but they will not start disembarkation until 8 or so. Our disembarkation started at 8:30. Then you go through customs and then you have a 30 minute drive to the airport (longer in traffic). You won't get to the airport much earlier than 9:30. You are supposed to be at the airport 2 hours before your flight so my general rule is no flights before noon.

They are on Pride of America, so no waiting for customs/immigration. The drive to the airport can take anywhere from 20 to 45 minutes, but we never expect the 20 minute ride and always plan for the 45.

They started disembarkation on our Pride of Hawaii cruise at about 7:30. But even if they started at 7 am, there's no possible way of making a 9 am flight. Even if you line up at the door with self-carry of luggage, you still have to get to the airport, go through the agricultural inspection before you can even check your luggage and those ag inspection lines can be pretty long, drop checked luggage (along with the hundreds of other people doing so for the early flights), go through security screening, and get to the gate a minimum of 20 minutes before departure.

There is simply no way of making a 9 am flight with a 7 am docking.
