CRUISE0825 Posted March 9, 2012 #1 Share Posted March 9, 2012 I just made Platinum on my last cruise. I'll be in Grand Cayman next month and was wondering how the priority tendering works for VIP cruisers. Do they give you tickets at the beginning of the cruise or do you have to request them? I've tried searching for the answer but after 20 minutes I gave up!

I've tried searching for the answer but after 20 minutes I gave up! Congrats on your upcoming Platinum cruise! For tender ports, I go to the Information Desk/Concierge Line and let them know we'd like to board the tender, someone walks us down (usually a seperate route from the crowds) and we get on. This has worked for me in Cabo, GC and HMC. :)
firefly333 Posted March 9, 2012 #3 Share Posted March 9, 2012 It only works getting on the tender to get to the island .. not getting back to the ship from my experience. To me by the time I go stop at the pursers desk to ask, if the lines are short, I would have been on the tender by then anyway. Its just the first 30 minutes when the first tenders open that the lines take any time to board. Ive only used it once, and I ran into a carnival rep in the stairwell getting down to board the tender.
cmdknw Posted March 9, 2012 #4 Share Posted March 9, 2012 To get back on quickly, it helps to have an 8 year old who looks like he's about to die of the heat! Good luck, we loved Grand Cayman!
BamaCruiser20 Posted March 9, 2012 #5 Share Posted March 9, 2012 Congratulations on become Platinum! I'll be on this same cruise with you! This will be my 20th...and it all started on the Conquest doing this same itinerary! I agree with Firefly, unless you are trying to get off as soon as they start tendering, it sometimes takes more time to go to GS to request an escort. I have actually done it a time or two without going to GS...just politely make your way to the front of the line and show the security your card and they will wave you through. Now, this has worked for me in the past, no guarantee it will work every time.

Texarribean Chick Posted March 9, 2012 #7 Share Posted March 9, 2012 If we are a larger group - we go to Guest Services to be escorted. If its just me and DH - we make our way to the front of the line and show security our S&S cards and they immediately assist us. Have Fun!
tattoos Posted March 9, 2012 #8 Share Posted March 9, 2012 We always go to the line at the Purser's desk for Platinum guests and are escorted to the tender. We've tried it the other way by just flashing our Sail & Sign but not all personnel are familiar with the rules regarding priority tendering for Platinum guests and one time we had to walk back up the stairs to the Purser's desk because a team member refused to let us through. CRUISE0825 Posted March 9, 2012 Author #9 Share Posted March 9, 2012 Thanks everyone! I guess I'll try to be patient and wait about 30 minutes before going down for the tender. Congratulations on become Platinum! I'll be on this same cruise with you! This will be my 20th...and it all started on the Conquest doing this same itinerary! It's the same ship & itinerary as my first cruise too! The first time was out of Galveston. This time I get to drive 15 minutes to the port and I'm there! :D It's hard to believe we only have 5 weeks to go. Have a safe trip down here!
