How early of a flight can we book out of LHR? Is a 1:00pm flight too early?

We made a 12:30 out of LHR with plenty of time to spare using Princess transfer from ship. Only problem was we got all the way to the gate and realized the boarding pass we had paid $20 to print on the ship had not printed the bar code. We had to go all the way back to the airline check-in and get it redone. Be sure to check that the boarding pass bar code is complete.We still made the flight, but learned a hard lesson.
