I was wondering if anyone has done this before where you pick your stateroom type but Carnival picks where your room is? We are planning on going on April 29. Thanks for any help

one of the couples going with us next month did this-picked a balcony as type-lucked out and got the Lido deck!

I love gtys and have done them more than a few times. I used to never luck out but last two times got lido deck.

When we cruised on the Triumph quite a few years ago... My DH and I had booked our balcony cabin on Empress Deck for the 3 of us (including DS). We booked and paid 21 months in advance. My parents booked a guaranteed outside cabin for about 50% of what we had paid (booked 3 months before cruising) and ended up in a balcony cabin 3 doors down the corridor from us.

 

It was wonderful having Grandma and Pops so handy... but feel we/they really just lucked out.

 

Because of our sons special needs - we want specific cabins (close to elevators - but not right on a landing, etc...) so we will continue to book specific cabins and pay the higher price. But it proved to us that when they can - they will try to oblige and make it as convenient as possible when groups are travelling together.
