What is the best way to get from the eifel tower to the notre dame area by public transportation? We are only there for 5 hours. What else would be doable in that time frame?

RER C, from station Champ de Mars-Tour Eiffel, direction "Pont de Rungis Aéroport d'Orly" or "DOURDAN-MASSY PALAISEAU" - Get out at station "Saint-Michel Notre-Dame"
