Need advice on flight schedule

We are taking the Emerald Princess cruise from Copenhagen next August. The cruise ends in Copenhagen at 7 am and disembarkation should begin shortly thereafter. We are booking our own airfare and want to know what is the earliest flight time back to the States we should book? There is a 10:45 flight we'd like to use; but won't if that's not enough time.

Princess recommends taking flights at 10:00am or later. We are going on the Emerald in June. We also have a 10:45am flight. We have friends who have done this cruise in the past and have taken a 9:50 flight and were at the airport in plenty of time. Book the 1045 flight. You will be fine.

I've done this cruise and the only risk you take is that the ship is delayed for some reason and reaches the port late.

If everything is on time then you shouldn't have any problems getting to the airport for 8.30 if you disembark around 7.30 as it is not far away.

If you google Copenhagen airport info it will tell you the approximate times/distances of how far it is from town. The port is only 5/10 mins out of town in a taxi, and we only had to wait about 10 mins for a taxi at the port, even though it was busy. You can get a train from town to the airport which only takes about 10 mins, or get a taxi the whole way.

Have a great time!

Go to http://www.cph.dk for each airline's check-in times (for some reason it won't let me copy the link). Click on Travelers and then click on Before Departure. You'll notice that is dependent on the airline being used and then class of travel. When we did this cruise in 2009, we were first off the ship (around 6:15) and made a 9 am flight but only because it was a weekend (no traffic) and we were flying first class to another point in Europe to connect with a flight to the US. The airport is small and there can be more than one ship in port. Err on the side of caution especially since if you miss the flight you might need to wait another day and in the summer you can't count on there being lots of empty seats on upcoming flights.

We used a 10:45 flight from CPH last summer. We did are own air, but used Princess's transfers. After getting the cases, at the airport and checking in we still had two hours to spend in the airport. As long as you Princess's guidelines you should be alright. That being said, I always have a back-up schedule handy.
