Question for previous Russian river cruisers...

Hi there -

 

Just wondering about availability of amber jewellry in Russia... especially in St. Petersburg.

 

There has been lots written about other souvenirs - but no one has said anything about amber.

A couple of years ago...we did a cruise to the Baltic...and went to St. Petersburg. During the entire cruise they were selling amber....it was all over the place...

When we went last year, it was all St. Petersburg. Didn't notice anything in Moscow since we had only a day and one half there.

Hi Fran,

Yes, it is all found all over. A bit more maney than in Poland, but a lot less than in Scandinavia. The quality may be not as good, but as souvenirs, or to wear to work, it's fine.

The handpainted pins and earrings are a good price too.

I bought some amber jewelry in Moscow at a store on Arbat Street.

 

I would try to buy it at a real jewelry store or nice store and not off the street.
