Does the front desk till take US dollars in Europe and convert too Euros and British Pounds without service charge?

While in Italy a few years ago you could go to the front desk and give them US Dollars and they would covert to Euros and that days conversion rate for guests. Do they still do that?

The ships do exchange money for you at the current rate. You make make a better deal on shore - but think about this - if you are spending time looking for somewhere to exchange your money - you are not spending time enjoying your time in port!

If you are only changing a few dollars to have a drink or pick up a few post cards - the pennies you will have saved cost you more than they are worth.

I have been on cruises where people have lined up at port side exchange booths and had all of us on the bus waiting for them and delaying our time visiting in port - not cool!
