Parking ? - at miami port or elsewhere

Can someone tell me where is the best place to park if you are going to the Port of Miami? At the Port or another Parking Area?

 

Need quick for trip this weekend!!

 

I would like something Cheap or Free if possible, like a hotel, but some place very safe and well lit.

In Miami the only place you want to park is at the port or anywhere else Homeland Security patrols.

If you plan on spending a night precruise in the area, use parksleepfly.com or stay123.com and look for hotels that include parking while you are gone. The nicest area I think for that is the hotels in the Blue Lagoon area. Hampton Inn has a pretty secure lot there. Don't go for the cheapest as some areas aren't the safest for you or your car. Do a forum search here and you might find other ideas. Blue Herons is right that the port itself is probably the safest...but most costly.

Parking at POM is convenient, covered, and secure for $20/day.:cool: A hotel parking deal with free parking included will be out near the MIA airport, cost at least $100, and will require you to spend at least $30 on a taxi.
