JimandStan Posted March 29, 2012 #2 Share Posted March 29, 2012 We are new to O and would like to ship our luggage to the ship in Lisbon this summer. Does anyone know which company O uses. I don't believe that Oceania offers that service, therefore they are not affiliated with any such company. We have previously used Luggage Forward because of recommendations from others on this board (Thanks Jan!), and were very satisfied. http://www.luggageforward.com The cost, however, is not insignificant- If you travel with as much luggage as we do, you might want to sponsor a student to a Semester at Harvard, instead ;) . Just because they provide a large closet does not mean you need to fill it :D How many pairs of shorts do you need:confused::confused:  Have a great time on your cruise(s) Lyn
First Time 2008 Posted March 30, 2012 #4 Share Posted March 30, 2012 Be very careful shipping to Lisbon. If shipping from the EU, no problem. But if shipping from ex-EU, Customs will be involved, and Portuguese customs are extremely slow, bureaucratic and expensive. They could easily hold your luggage for a month while they do their paperwork. Avoid.
RetiredFL Posted March 30, 2012 #5 Share Posted March 30, 2012 As far as I know, Portugal is still part of the EU.
JimandStan Posted March 30, 2012 #6 Share Posted March 30, 2012 As far as I know, Portugal is still part of the EU. As I read it, that is what firstimer was saying. Luggage shipped within the EU would not be subject to customs, but if it has to be inspected then there might be a long delay.
