jarand Posted April 14, 2012 #1 Share Posted April 14, 2012 Is there a good means of transportation from the Seattle airport to Vancouver? It is SO much cheaper to fly into Seattle. Thanks!
scottbee Posted April 14, 2012 #2 Share Posted April 14, 2012 Is there a good means of transportation from the Seattle airport to Vancouver? It is SO much cheaper to fly into Seattle. Thanks! Unfortunately the US government places large taxes both on international flights, along with taxes to enter the US by air (which don't exist entering by land). That being said, Quick Coach offer coach shuttle service from SEA to Vancouver's cruise pier for a little over $50ish ea way; an approximately 4 hour journey
dmwnc1959 Posted April 14, 2012 #3 Share Posted April 14, 2012 Depending on your arrival time into Seattle, and/or if you are staying overnight in Seattle pre-cruise, my favorite way to get from Seattle-Vancouver is by the Amtrak Cascades. Such a beautiful and relaxing ride and the views out the left side of the train are amazing. The only morning service on the Amtrak Cascades departs the Seattle Union Station downtown at 7:40am and arrives Vancouver 11:40am. Upgrade to Business Class as it is a minor fee and so worth it. Once in Vancouver those in Business Class leave the train and clear Customs first. From there you can grab a taxi to the cruise ship terminal or Skytrain (literally across the street) to downtown which will be a very short walk to the terminal. Budget Queen Posted April 14, 2012 #4 Share Posted April 14, 2012 There are also one way rental cars, which work very well, if you arrive prior to embarkment day. Can overnight in Bellingham- very reasonable, then with an early start, be in Vancouver for some am touring if you wish to take advantage of some sightseeing. savvyRN Posted April 14, 2012 #5 Share Posted April 14, 2012 Many of the cruise lines offer bus service from SeaTac Airport to the cruise terminal in Vancouver (for a fee of course). It is very convenient because they take you right to the ship and you don't have to mess with luggage transfers, etc. The bus driver on our HAL trip even did a little commentary on what we were seeing as we headed north. I know Princess and HAL both offer this service.

Fireplug Posted April 16, 2012 #7 Share Posted April 16, 2012 We have done the bus to and from Seattle. It wasnt bad but it wasn't memorable either. Doing the Amtrak Cascades from Vancouver to Seattle this year, then taking a cab to a hotel near the airport! Flying home the next day. Squid If you pack light and can manage your bags, it is much cheaper to just take the light rail. You can not have any mobility limitation. Many airport hotels have shuttles as well. Look at $40++ for a cab, since it's not regulated from Amtrak. A couple years ago, I paid $42++, before the light rail was running.
