Movies..free and PPV

We are leaving on the Constellation trans-Atlantic in a few weeks. I am wondering about free movies...do they have in room any that are fairly new. Also, how much are PPV?

I don't know about the Connie but on the Equinox they had several free movies including the ones shown in the movie theater. The PPV were pretty expensive I thought. We have ONDEMAND at home and pay about half what they were charging on the ship.

movies shown on the tv are not new -- they are usually about the same as you find on airlines, not first run features --

On the just-upgraded Infinity the PPV movies were $9.99; I assume the "adult" titles would have been even higher but had no inclination to find out. In 14 days the only recent titles I spotted were Bridesmaids and The Help; most of the time the single free movie channel was showing basic-cable staples such as Love Actually and other of the same vintage. There were no movies shown in the theatre.

I am not impressed with the movies free or on demand, so I take my Archos a portable video player with about 350 hours of tv and movies on it.

The "S" class have a fairly good selection of free "on demand" movies....we were impressed as compared to what was available on previous cruises on "M" class and Royal ships.

I noticed that a lot of the free on demand movies were independent films. Stranger than normally strange indy films.
