Embarkation day lunch availability--Navigator

Hi all

 

Could someone please refresh my memory and tell me what lunch options are available on the day of embarkation? If we board mid-afternoon(2-3-ish), would any food be available? We are on the 10/14 Navigator cruise leaving from Brooklyn, and we will probably arrive at the pier later than we normally would (to give us time to sight-see in NYC), and the ship doesn't leave until 9 p.m.

Am trying to decide whether to dish out $$$ in NYC for lunch, or enjoy one of those great burgers on the pool deck!;) Thanks!

I'll let you know, since I'll be boarding in SF in a few days. I'll be on board earlier than that, for sure, but I'll make a note of what's around later on, if I can.

 

Of course, once you're in your room, you can order room service!

We have only sailed from Ft. Lauderdale in the past, and were on board by 1 p.m. or so, so boarding much later will be something new for us. Your room service suggestion is a good one; that would "tide" us over until we go in search of our favorite waiter in Compass Rose at dinner!:) Of course, who knows....we may have had enough of schlepping around NYC and will want to escape to the Navigator early...time will tell!

La Veranda tends to close at 1400. But the Pool Grill will be open until 1600 and they make the most divine blue cheeseburgers I have ever had!!

Thanks for the info. My husband loves those bleu cheeseburgers! Hopefully the weather will be cooperative and we can enjoy the pool deck in October.

on Embarkation day, only the windjammer & promenande area are open for lunch. Also room service is not available for lunch.

 

MDR for Lunch sometimes are closed on port days.
