Early Saver Question

Just found a price drop on my cruise on the Freedom for 9/8. I can match to a resident rate for my state for a $40 total price drop. If I do a fake booking, the resident rate does not allow you to choose the cabin. But when I check on fareviewer, it does show me rates for BL, 8B, 8C, etc. If I submit the early saver form, will I lose my cabin and have to go back into the guarantee pool? If that's the case, I would probably not apply for the price drop since I would prefer to have the cabin I already have. I thought maybe since they were showing the price for each category of balcony cabin, that maybe it would be possible to keep the same cabin.

I lost my cabin, and had to move from a port hole and they eventually gave me a regular inside.

they used to not allow you to price match downward to a gty since its against the ES rules, but lately they have been allowing it.

Mixed results, most have to give up their cabin of course. Lucky if they even allow it.
