Cliff Jumping in Santorini/Rhodes

We will be there in October, is it too cold to get in the water?

 

Looking for a safe place to jump, hopefully not too far out of the way from other things to see and do. About 20 ft high, easy clearance, deep waters.

The cliffs in Santorini are hundreds of feet high, it being the mouth of a volcano. It's not a place to swim, in the caldera, unless you're on an excursion to the hot springs, on the side of the volcano itself.

Swimming happens at the other side of the island, which slopes gently into the sea from a black volcanic sandy beach.

There is a diving company in Kamari, which takes people round to rocks; there's also a small water taxi which goes to different beaches.

We've been in the water in early Oct, whilst the weather's still hot; OH has snorkelled with the diving company. You need to know what you're doing on such a difficult island....it's not at all your usual Greek island.
