Best Port Best Snorkling

We are going to St Thomas and St Martin Nov 2012 on the NCL Epic. Which Port has the best beach or ship Snorkling during that time of year.

I've heard fantastic things about the snorkeling at Sapphire Beach in St. Thomas. I'm going to give that a try on our June Victory cruise.

We have been consistently disappointed in snorkeling in St. Maarten. Great island, fun water day but everything happens at the beach level or higher, imho. St. Thomas (or pref. St. John) get your face in the water, much more exciting. We liked Loterie Farms best in St. Maarten- who knew?

From St. Thomas, take a boat over to St. John & do Trunk Bay. DH is a snorkeler and highly recommends it.

I second Trunk Bay! Either find a Carnival excursion with Trunk Bay, or grab a cab over to Red Hook and grab the ferry over to St. John.

St. Martin go to Pinel Island. Great snorkeling but in deep water.

Love St. Maarten ... but the snorkeling is much better in St.Thomas/St.John. :)
