I'm showing my newbie status probably, but what CD? You mention enjoying the cruise friendships 'including the CD' -- but I don't know what that means. Thanks! Have never done this before, so I read this thread with a lot of interest. I would like to get some of the Ship's Officers to our venue and I have noticed that some people have a good response and others have virtually no Ship representatives. So, I have made up personal invitations, as suggested on this thread, and I am considering putting in the following to get a better response from the Ship's officers- "While this is a no-host bar event, I will have a bottle of Wine available so that you can have a drink on us, if allowed." From your experience, when a Ship's officer attends, do they ever drink or would this not be allowed? My thought was that I might get more attendance if the employee does not have to go out of pocket to mingle with a drink in their hands. I have templates for letters inviting the Principal Officers to our M & G plus an invite to the photo department. I left them at the main desk with the exception of the Photo department which I delivered personally. I also verified the day of the event that their would be a photographer present for a group photo. I also organized a slot pull in the casino. Besides, my guess is, at least the Captain & most officer orders are on the house. This has been an interesting forum and the onboard invite info has been a big help. I was going to send a post to you a few days ago, but I noticed you were on your cruise. One other question, how about inviting the entertainers for the cruise? Lecturers are fine if there's broad reach in the topic, but an entertainer could definitely make things a bit more lively. There is a list of the senior officers in the first Patter. If you mean people from your roll call, I just post the info on the Roll Call. I have never sent invites. Then towards the bottom of this email, it shows me two of the entertainers for my cruise. I then googled their names and found they each have a website with the ability to email them or possibly their subordinates. So, today I will send an email to each of them explaining our Meet and Greet and would they like to stop by for 5 to 10 minutes, and I plan on reviving the first drink is on me as I assume entertainers would not be restricted from a drink in their free time.
