Magnetchief Posted May 26, 2012 #1 Share Posted May 26, 2012 Would anyone know what sort of video poker machines that have on the AOS? I like Jacks or better, pretty damn good if I say so myself :) but this is from playing on land based or online machines. Any clues as to the percentage / payouts? I'm betting $10 there are no 9/6 machines.. If not they what sort of numbers are we looking at? If no JorB then what other games? Thanks in advance.. cb at sea Posted May 26, 2012 #2 Share Posted May 26, 2012 They have video poker...no idea what "kind" of machines...some are straight poker, some are "multi-game" with various kinds of poker avail. Can't remember the "odds" of the machines, either, but they ALL favor the house!

Haven't been on an RCCL ship in a long time, but I'm a VP player who cruises on NCL and I can tell you the pay tables are generally awful - as you would expect. I suspect RCCL is no different. You will find JOB but I'd be amazed if you found any 9/6 JOB at all. Even on the "high limit" machines on NCL the best I've ever seen was 8/5 or 8/6 and that was on a $5 machine...$25 a hand and they can't even give you 9/6. But, sadly, that's mostly the case on land now too. On NCL, 92% to 94% pay tables are the norm.
Magnetchief Posted May 30, 2012 Author #4 Share Posted May 30, 2012 Thanks for the info. Just what I was looking for, unfortunately as expected. I could swing $5 a hand, but $25 is a little too expensive for me. I guess I will not be spending too many hrs in the casino. :( Oh well, there are always the local places once I get home. You're welcome, Magnetchief. I always figure my play on the ships is for entertainment value, never in the expectation of doing well at it. Also, on NCL, you do earn points for your play that can add up to some nice freebies & credit against your final bill plus future cruise comps, so I can tolerate some low-pay VP, although I mostly play the slots so I can get full points credit for my $ in play. FYI, the calculation on NCL is $5 in play earns one point. $10 in play on VP for one point.
