Rare kazu Posted May 27, 2012 #7 Share Posted May 27, 2012 that makes sense to me. extra turkey though. kb just ask:):) then the call comes asking if your meal was ok:) btw - you can order off the dining room menu if you want to eat in your room at a set time (order has to be placed within 1/2 hour but you can choose the time). check when you get on board to see what the rules are as they vary. On the Prinsendam one of our tablemates had an insulin reaction - she had to go back to her cabin (we do late dining - well past delivery time) but food was a must for her and her husband. They ordered and left the table. I asked our waiter if he could arrange for it to be delivered to the cabin - he said certainly - and it was:) Very kind people taking care of you on these ships - enjoy:)
peaches from georgia Posted May 27, 2012 #8 Share Posted May 27, 2012 ...... btw the club sandwich is a must on any HAL cruise as far as dh and I are concerned;) Absolutely. One of the best things served on the ship. Some nights we prefer it to anything served in the MDR. Add French Onion Soup, the Apple Tart, and a good movie and it's a perfect night after a busy port day. A typical 10 day for us would be 4 nights in the MDR, 4 nights in the Pinnacle and 2 with the above menu in our cabin.
Krazy Kruizers Posted May 27, 2012 #9 Share Posted May 27, 2012 HAL has had those menus for years. And I sure hope that HAL never changes them.

cjm66 Posted May 27, 2012 #11 Share Posted May 27, 2012 Thank you for posting this! And to the OP for asking - it would have been one of my questions as a returning HAL passenger. Will be nice to have a real room service menu o choose from. Colleen

richarduk Posted November 11, 2012 #15 Share Posted November 11, 2012 As far as room service dinner goes you can pick up the phone and ask for a copy of the Manhattan restaurant dinner menu to be brought to your room anytime. When you are ready to order (during restaurant hours) just pick up the phone and order the same meal as you would in the restaurant. Only thing is that it all arrives together, so no point in ordering ice cream or sorbet etc. In my experience there is often something either missing or wrong but if you get over that it's quite good. sail7seas Posted November 11, 2012 #16 Share Posted November 11, 2012 The Main Dining Room on all the ships has its own name..... they are not all called Manhattan Dining Room. For dinner served in your cabin from MDR menu, some ships require you call to order during the first half hour or so that the dining room opens for the evening to place your order. You can request it be delivered at whatever time you want during dinner service hours. The exact timing when they want you to call varies some among the ships so ask. sail7seas Posted November 11, 2012 #17 Share Posted November 11, 2012 Has anyone ever ordered pizza for room service and was it the same as the pizza served in Lido or at taco bar, depending upon ship? It is somewhat better on some ships than others.
