Johnny Red Tip Posted May 29, 2012 #1 Share Posted May 29, 2012 We are thinking of taking a P & O short 'cruise to nowhere' out of Sydney later in the year along with our family - which will include an 18 month old granddaughter. Does anyone know if baby sitting services are available - and what the cost is - and/or if the housekeeping staff are happy to babysit in the evening for a bit of extra cash? cheers
CruiserBruce Posted May 29, 2012 #2 Share Posted May 29, 2012 Every cruise has different situations. The best for the most current info for you is on the P&O board.
Starbright Posted May 29, 2012 #3 Share Posted May 29, 2012 Make sure you look at P&O (Australia) not P&O (UK).
wineforhealth Posted May 29, 2012 #4 Share Posted May 29, 2012 For piece of mind and if you can afford it I would bring a babysitter with you.
Starbright Posted May 29, 2012 #5 Share Posted May 29, 2012 P&O in the UK don't do babysitting in the staterooms. However, they do have a night nursery where little ones can be left during the evening.
kitty9 Posted May 30, 2012 #6 Share Posted May 30, 2012 No in cabin sitting on any P&O Australia ship. There might also be an age requirement on some P&O ships, as they are adults only, so be sure to check that. There is a statement on their website that says all children, 12 months to 3 years must be with their parents at all times. I don't know if that means they don't allow infants or toddlers in their evening group sitting program. If the child is allowed, there is a per hour charge and it's a 10pm to 1am program only. Nothing earlier.
