Venice: Cost from airport to San Basilio terminal

Will be arriving at Venice airport and need to board our ship at San Basilio terminal. Our TA has quoted us a price of $250 USD for land transfer from airport to ship, for two people with moderate baggage. Does this seem reasonable?

That price is high! You can book a water taxi direct from the airport to the cruise terminal for 100-120E total. And the water taxi is the nicest way to go.. (and one of the most expensive, but certainly the most direct)

Can you tell me where the best site is to pre-book a land taxi?

I don't know how to prebook a land taxi, but if you just go to the taxi stand you can get a metered taxi that will drive you to San Basilio terminal. When I did this in 2011, the cost of the taxi was 35 euros,

including the extra night charge since my delayed plane got in at 11:30 pm. At night no traffic it took about 25 minutes. The taxi drops you off outside the large shed. You have to take your luggage around the corner to the shed door to check in. After you check in, your ship should have a little shuttle bus from the terminal to the ship.

I booked with Click Airport Transfer. They meet you at the airport with your name on a sign. You pay the driver 39 Euros. No need to wait on a taxi line.

Price sounds pretty high. :( Here's a much lower cost option that we plan to use. Take the AVTO bus from the airport to Piazzale Roma and the People Mover from there to the cruise terminal.

The AVTO bus will take you from the airport to Piazzale Roma for 5 Euros pp (4.5 Euros pp if you by 2 or more tickets online). Check out the ATVO bus at this link: http://www.atvo.it/index.php?lang=en&area=23&menuid=35&view_pc=!#

You can buy tickets at the airport or at a small discount at this link: http://88.36.245.11/webticketing/configuratore.jsp

From Piazzale Roma, you can take a 3 minute ride to the cruise terminal on the new overhead People Mover for about 1 Euro pp. More information on the People Mover at this link:

The OP asked for the price to the SAN BASILIO Terminal, not the main Statizione

Maritime. Your directions and websites are NOT for SAN BASILIO but for Statizione Maritmo. There are 2 cruise terminals in Venice.

Sounds like you could use a new TA. Don't pay attention to the posts that suggest a water taxi, or the bus and people mover.

San Basilio is not accessible from the people mover. You simply take a plain old land taxi from the airport all the way to San Basilio. Cost is 35-40 euros.

Check it out on google earth . The coordinates for San Basilio dock are 45.431076,12.319327. Note the road goes all the way. The screen shot shows the end of the terminal building (rather rundown)

You only take the People Mover from Piazzale de Roma to the Main Cruise terminal. (the People Mover goes nowhere near San Basilio) . For the San Basilio Piers a road taxi can take you all the way to San Basilio piers (either from the Airport or from P d R . San Basilio is alos serviced during daylight hours by the public Vaporettos # 2 or # 6 from Piazzale de Roma . Be sure to board the Vaporetto heading towards San Basilio as # 2 & also run the other way from San Basilio to Piazzale de Roma.
