I need advice on which bus to take in which direction to Saxman Native Village.

 

And, does anyone know when the totem carving is carving so we can see him?

Red Line, bus stop is on the same side as the cruise ship dock, near the Eagle Totem.

 

This is an area best with a guide, you get little by just walking by. Guides could be available inquiring at the gift shop.

In the past, the only people allowed in the carving shed were those on, some tours. You can see through windows. They are carving throughout the day.
