auburn77 Posted June 12, 2012 #1 Share Posted June 12, 2012 Not a big gambler, but do like to play at times. Does the casino stay open while sailing the Inside Passage? I have no desire to miss the sights while sailing, but would like to know if the casino is open long after dark (which I believe will be quite late). CruiserBruce Posted June 12, 2012 #2 Share Posted June 12, 2012 If it is a sea day, yes, it will be open.

Yes, if the ship is not in port and if the ship is not in US waters, the casino will be open. The daily newsletter will always advise you.
Krazy Kruizers Posted June 12, 2012 #4 Share Posted June 12, 2012 The daily Explorer will give you the times for the Casino. Last year when we did the Inside Passage -- within a half hour or so of leaving Seattle -- and being in Canadian waters -- the Casino opened. Have fun on your cruise and enjoy the casino, as it will be open during the Inside Passage and seems like to me as long as they have customers at night, they keep the casino open. jaguarstyper Posted June 13, 2012 #7 Share Posted June 13, 2012 I have played black jack in the casinos on HAL ships until the wee hours of the morning on many occaisions. As long as there are players, they seem to just keep dealing. I've been there as late as 4:30AM and have never been asked to quit. I really don't know what their official closing time is, or if there even is one.
jaguarstyper Posted June 13, 2012 #8 Share Posted June 13, 2012 This thread reminds me of a question I've been meaning to ask about the HAL casinos. I was at a local casino recently and chatting with one of the other players and we came around to cruise ship casinos. He told me that HAL was now using automatic continuous shufflers in the casinos for all of the card games, including black jack. Can anyone confirm this? That would be most unfortunate. I agree that it seems so long as someone is playing at a table they'll keep that table open even after they've closed all the other tables.
