Tendering - life boats or boats from the island?

We've only been to GC twice the first trip we were tendered by lifeboat 2nd was a double deck almost like a small ferry/tour boat.

Do more ships use the lifeboats or the tour/ferry boats from the island as tenders these days?

We found using the lifeboats took a bit longer to get on and off.

As a wheelchair user I found the boats from the island to be far better than when we had to use lifeboats 4yrs ago. I could roll myself onto the bigger boat tender, crew had to pick up my chair with me in it to get onto the lifeboat when used as a tender.

Getting off at the south terminal OMG  they had to lift me like 2 1/2 feet up to get off the lifeboat very scary when the water isn't prefectly calm.
