Somewhere to spend a couple of hours between cruises

Does anyone have any suggestions as to where we might go for a couple of hours please near to Southampton docks on a Sat morning?

 

We will be getting off one ship and getting on another ship later the same day so will have luggage and a car to keep an eye on.

Why not just pop out into the New Forest, some lovely spots to be found within 30 minutes of the docks

Is you car with C&PS parking? The reason I ask is the car won't be available between cruises.

The new SeaCity Maritime Museum is interesting, even if it is nearly all Titanic related. The free shuttle bus from Town Quay will get you there, or walk the QE2 Mile.

No, not possible.

The OP is only in port for a few hours, they risk their ship sailing while they're still trying to find IKEA's exit doors. :D

 

Consider http://www.beaulieu.co.uk/ by car (but note Scorpio's comment) or by the Hythe ferry from Town Quay then bus or taxi.

 

Or Southampton's tourist sights - fairly limited, but compact & enough to give you an interesting day on foot.

I would honestly just go to West Quay shopping centre. Stock up on whatever toiletries have run low from the previous cruise, get a drink and a bite to eat, and have a look round the shops. If you are only in Southampton for a few hours, I wouldn't want to be going anywhere out of the city itself.
