Rome

Our cruise ship is due to visit Rome on a Sunday. So does this mean the city will be more busy or less. I am thinking maybe less because there are fewer workers around but then maybe more because local families will also be out and about. I know Rome is terribly busy in summer anyway but just wondered what your thoughts are or can anyone compare between a week-day and a Sunday.

Thankyou.

Some of the major sightseeing destinations in Rome - St. Peter's Basilica and the Pantheon come to mind - are active houses of worship, and sometimes limit the hours they are available for tourism and/or limit indoor photography during certain times.
