Transfer Time in Dublin

We're flying Rome to NY (Aer Lingus) in early November with a 1hr 15 min layover in Dublin. Assuming airlines being on time, is 75 minutes sufficient time to make the transfer?

It will be tight, but for a reason many people don't realize - you will clear US immigration in Dublin. Ireland is the only country in Europe where the US has immigration staff who process you before getting on the plane, so you arrive in to JFK pretty much like a domestic flight. SO, it's not just that you're changing planes in 75 minutes, it's that you are changing planes and clearing immigration in 75 minutes.

We went to NY through Dublin from Vienna recently. The flight to NY left in late afternoon and so there was no US customs available and 75 min would have been enough if your plane from Rome is on time. When we went to Ireland in 2011, we did go through customs in Dublin to go to Orlando. It is convenient but the customs lines were long and took some time to go through (but yay no line or anything in Orlando). I have since read that sometimes you can do the Dublin US customs and STILL have to do customs in NY or some other airports. So it may depend on what time your plane leaves whether you need to allow time for customs in Dublin (the US customs guys only work like 8 to 4 or something) or on if passengers to JFK even have the option of passing customs in Dublin. (By the way, we were waved through NY customs quickly but it took an hour to get our luggage before doing so).
