James_Bond_007 Posted July 2, 2012 #1 Share Posted July 2, 2012 What channels are available to watch for free in the staterooms? We won't be spending much time watching tv, but there are a couple of programs that we enjoy watching. --- I am here: http://tapatalk.com/map.php?03xl4x

firefly333 Posted July 2, 2012 #3 Share Posted July 2, 2012 Very few channels .. CNN International .. and in a bunch of languages. One of the major networks, maybe ABC. two movie channels, nothing great, a cartoon channel. Not much tv to choose from if you ask me. I miss my FOX news when I cruise. PS you will get a channel showing Carnival excursions, and one with the shows and stuff, and one showing things like shopping channel, carnival stuff .. at least half the few channels are carnival stuff like that. you can watch the show the next day on tv if you missed it. luvscruising2007 Posted July 2, 2012 #4 Share Posted July 2, 2012 I don't remember for sure on Carnival, but I do know on Royal Caribbean the channel selection is minimal. The network channel repeated the same shows all week and they were not the current offerings. There was a news channel and maybe a sports channel. Not sure exactly because I could be confusing the 2 lines. Basically though, there is not much to choose from.
Yazoo cruiser Posted July 2, 2012 #5 Share Posted July 2, 2012 The last few cruises we were on, all out of New Orleans, we got an ABC, CBS, and NBC station out of Miami. A CNN, and a ESPN international station. I know we did not get Fox news.

My wife was happy because she thought she could watch Survivor on our cruise until we realized that it wasn't playing all the CBS shows, and the ones they did show were on at different times than we were used to, and were all reruns. The one Cable channel I remember was E!, but it also wasn't the same as what we got at home. I did enjoy watching Cricket highlights on ESPN in the morning. Made a nice change from the sports I'm used to watching :D
