Grand Princess "adrift"?

This website of the princess cams, http://www.princess.com/bridgecams/all.html, shows a bridgecam from the Grand Princess with a note that says:

"...vessel is now adrift in Hellesylt"

What does this mean? The word adrift is a loaded word in shipping circles and I expect they wouldn't use it in a casual way. I have not seen any other info about this.

They probably mean scenic cruising. I'll bet the word "adrift" was chosen by someone for whom English is not their first language. :p

I agree. There really is no "drifting" in the fjords because they are pretty narrow and within minutes, the ship would be onshore. :)

Its basically because it is too deep to anchor and there are no places to dock properly, so she sits in the fjord 'untethered' and 'drifts'. Thrusters are used to keep the ship in position.

I suspect there is also a bit of captain Bilton's English humour attached to it.
