Departing LAX vs LGB on a Thursday or Friday

I've done a little research, now looking for opinions. This is for a couple of cruises ending at San Pedro. I'm thinking to get from San Pedro to LGB for a 12:35PM departure on a Thursday would be a little less stressful than a 12:45PM from LAX? The LGB airport website says taxis are $45 flat rate (subject to change) TO San Pedro. Can I assume the same applies FROM San Pedro?

 

I'm not too familiar with the Los Angeles area and what traffic would be like. I assume it's either bad or more bad. ;)

Both flight times are doable but Long Beach would certainly be easier.
