lahlah57 Posted July 17, 2012 #1 Share Posted July 17, 2012 And could not be more impressed!!!! The voyage has started off with a bang! The things I was concerned with is awash amd our first day and a half is wonderful!!! Food fabulous, service incredible and weather is cool and damp to start but that is nothing to even address! Currently in Cologne Germany and will soon walk into town because we will be settled until close to midnite. Have not seen a single bus to ship us anywhere...and that could not make us happier. Our fellow passengers are all of like minds and we communicate about our travels as well as our futures with Viking. We have quite a few more days aboard and this trip has been more than desired. This hard working crew does not stop for a minute to see that this voyage will not disappoint. Also this ship is so quiet you hardly know its moving and we are on the 2nd floor verandah. If you had doubts....do not! Viking is here to serve with their new longships and if you are booked, you have alot to look forward to. We will be leaving to walk into town to try a new german beer and hopefully I will be able to contact with any new updates as our voyage continues. Happy Travels!!:D

lahlah57 Posted July 18, 2012 Author #5 Share Posted July 18, 2012 Loved Amsterdam and Cologne! Yes Lauren the trip has been a step back in timewith a few luxuries following along with us. They have us on our tours in the A.M. and naps seem to fall upon us in the afternoon. Getting warmer with everyday that passes. Less sweaters and umbrellas now too! Really do not want it to end:p

CountessOz Posted July 20, 2012 #7 Share Posted July 20, 2012 Thank you Lahlah. We are going to do the Grand European Tour in October 2012 in the new ship Skadi. Have you heard anything about it?:)
FinelyRetired Posted July 20, 2012 #8 Share Posted July 20, 2012 Lahlah: So nice of you to post while aboard. We are doing this river cruise next summer. We are most interested to hear about your stops on this itinerary. Did you do ship tours and if so were they well run, informative? Was there also time to do your own thing and make your way back independently? Martha
eccsr Posted July 20, 2012 #9 Share Posted July 20, 2012 So glad to hear you are enjoying the cruise. We are going next Sunday on the same ship- Budapest to Nuremberg. Please tell us more about the ship. Have a great time!
lahlah57 Posted July 22, 2012 Author #10 Share Posted July 22, 2012 In Nuremburg now with beautiful weather. Very few Faux Pas and if there is one it is of no matter but you always who have those who want to complain about anything and everything. If it rains a little too much at any particular moment it has to be the program directors fault.......are you kidding?! Schedule changes "could" occur but who cares.....I have no meetings to be at or babysitters to relieve! The regional tour guides are so knowledgable and a delight. They give us a full rundown in a short period of time. Viking has been a class act and have surprised us on several occasions! When travelling......let your sense of adventure always be your guide! lahlah57 Posted July 24, 2012 Author #12 Share Posted July 24, 2012 In Passau and have sunny and warm weather! A good portion of our stops are short tours (included) and then they let us loose to do our own thing. Most of us go out to lunch or dinner off the ship cause time does allow and you can then sample the local cuisine. Love It !!!:D We do not depart until 6:30 pm and it 4:20 pm now. We had a late morning and the whole afternoon if you wish. It has been a great trip thus far!
