maryland Posted July 18, 2012 #1 Share Posted July 18, 2012 Trying to decide what time we should arrive at Port Canaveral. We have about a 2-1/2 hour drive. What time does Carnival start allowing psgrs to embark? Looking for suggestions on best time to be there. Thanks
GTO-Girl Posted July 18, 2012 #2 Share Posted July 18, 2012 We always arrive around 10:15 to 10:30......we like to start our vacation as soon as possible!!! They usually allow boarding around 11:30.

Rare 20165 Posted July 18, 2012 #4 Share Posted July 18, 2012 were arrived around 11 and were on board eating lunch by noon. I would suggest that if you have kids, you bring their bathing suites so they can swim given they dont let you go to your staterooms until 1:30. What time does Carnival start allowing psgrs to embark? Looking for suggestions on best time to be there. Thanks We sailed on the 7th and just got home from the cruise and a few days at Universal Studios. We arrived at 10:30 am and after 10 minutes of parking and security we were assigned to Zone 6. So, that's kind of a lot of people already queued by 10:40 am! We were on board by 11:45 am. EVERYONE rushed to the pool and The Gathering. If you plan to have lunch, I suggest you head all the way to the back of The Gathering where it will be cooler and less crowded. Also, no one seemed to find the Pasta Bar (back of The Gathering to the left and up the stairs) until much later in the afternoon. Have fun! CharlesKru Posted July 18, 2012 #8 Share Posted July 18, 2012 I always try to get there around 10:30-11, however it seems that we are never quite able to get out of the hotel room and onto the shuttle until closer to 12. Either way, we have never really ran into any problems getting on the ship. I personally think that Port Canaveral is the smoothest embarkation site that Carnival runs. (looking forward to testing out their Barcelona port)
crusinfamof4 Posted July 18, 2012 #9 Share Posted July 18, 2012 We were staying in Daytona Beach at my parents house. We got to the port at 11 and were onboard at 11:30-litterally the longest part of embarkation was waiting for my DH to come in after parking the truck. Port Canaveral is a fabulous port to sail out of.
Jbird81 Posted July 18, 2012 #10 Share Posted July 18, 2012 We pulled up to the pier just around 11, and were on board by 11:30 or so. I'd say any time after 10:30 is fair game.

suezyq50 Posted July 18, 2012 #13 Share Posted July 18, 2012 Would 10 be too early. Hard to say. It might be. The ship has to be cleared, etc. If there are any delays, that pushes back everything. Only once did we encounter a delay that caused boarding to be postponed by 1.5 hrs. Not a long time, but when waiting, it seems forever.
