Wondering if there are the clothes line on the s class ships, as there were on the m class ships?

They were handy..and are there clocks in cabin?

There are no clotheslines in the bathrooms and no clocks in the cabins on the S class ships.

On the Solstice (s class) there are two small knobs in the shower from which you can hang lightweight clothing items. I hand wash my lingerie and I had no trouble finding hanging space. Though of course a wash line would have been appreciated.

If I were cynical (which of course I'm not) I'd say that Celebrity deliberately got rid of the shower clothesline on S class ships to discourage passengers from doing laundry in their cabins thereby increasing use of their pay per item commercial laundry service and adding a bit more to the bottom line.

But I'm sure the idea never crossed their minds...

I think the sliding doors on the shower limit the opportunity for a clothes line. We take one with suction cups and it works very well.

Sheila -- that sounds great -- where did you find it? On our Solstice cruise, we were shocked to find that our SkySuite had no clothesline in the tub. Needless to say, I had to get creative about where to hang wet bathing suits, etc. So, I'm planning to be better prepared on our upcoming Equinox cruise!

The Woolite or the Design Co type looks just like the one we have. We bought at a CAA (think AAA) store and got a good discount. It stays in our 'cruise essentials' bag and has been invaluable.

What do you attach the clothes line to?

If I remember correctly, :o, it gets attached to the towel bar outside the shower and to the shower head. Makes walking around a bit difficult, but since I cruise alone, I only have to be concerned about decapitating myself.

To the other posters, it is tiny and I have had it for probably 30 years. Apparently it will outlast me.

We took a nylon rope and a few clothes pins last time.. and I know I will get blasted ..but a couple of times I tied it between the backs of 2 deck chairs.. but they were back out of sight .

I just found this wonderful travel line called 'Hook Anywhere Clothesline' I will definately be getting one!!! Looks like it will hook to the 2 knobs in the shower

As long as you don't leave them unattended, there isn't any prohibition against putting your wet bathing suit or other wet clothes out on the chairs of your verandah. Just never leave them out there when you are not in the room, in case some lout decides to throw his illegal cigarette your way.

I cigarette did not occur to me . I actually clothes pinned shirts to the backs of the chairs.( We were AQ aft, so we were on 11) A friend ( aft deck 6) hung his shorts on the railing and of course they blew off .. but being on aft they landed on the end of the ship . The room steward was able to climb down and fetch them

I just throw a couple of plastic coated wire coat hangers in my suitcase along with a few clothes pins. If I wash a t-shirt I can put it on the hanger and then hook the hanger over the track of the shower door. Then I can use the pins to hang multiple undies on one hanger.

If you have a veranda, you can string your bikini bottoms along the railing, and if anyone comments, just reply that they are message flags, and the complainants should learn naval flag code:D. Of course, some purists might counter that bikini bottoms don't cover the naval .... er navel!

I do something similar. We have a couple of plastic coated wire skirt/pants hangers so I don't need to bring additional clothes pins.

I have some neat inflatable hangers that I use to hand wet clothes on. If there is no room in the bathroom, I hang in them in the closet and leave the door slightly opened for the to dry. I also bring some clothes pins to use for laundry. Going on the Celebrity Silhoutte and will probably bring a clothes line with me too.

I bought a portable clothes line, complete with clips for the clothes, at CVS Pharmacy. Not all the stores have it, but I have used on S class ships by hooking one side to the door and the other side hooked on the little hooks on the wall. I also used it to hook onto the balcony chairs to dry swimsuits, keeping the chairs close to the door. You can't see

them from off the ship and I bring them in when we leave the cabin.
