needabreakcanada Posted July 26, 2012 #30 Share Posted July 26, 2012 I just went in on sale. Had a quick peek. When I went into the sight a second time - it wasn't there - not even on home page. This happening to anyone else?
momof5k Posted July 26, 2012 #31 Share Posted July 26, 2012 Site is down right now... I was going to complete our cruise documents today for our upcoming August cruise but I just keep getting an error code. And it says I cruise is 563 days  Going to keep trying... cruisinJenF Posted July 26, 2012 #32 Share Posted July 26, 2012 Looks like the "sale" has started. Not seeing anything of interest. The sale that offers OBC of $100 the rate went up $100....sooooo that's not really a sale lol!
adrianypr Posted July 26, 2012 #33 Share Posted July 26, 2012 They are advertising 50% reduced deposits, haven't looked to see if the rates went up though. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
KPGirl Posted July 26, 2012 #34 Share Posted July 26, 2012 It is a 72 hour sale but the little ticker says 73 hrs left ? Strange ??
maggieworkman Posted July 26, 2012 #35 Share Posted July 26, 2012 I looked at rates for the cruises that I have been monitoring, and the rates are the same as they have been. So the OBC would be a bonus. Maggie

Sugar67 Posted July 26, 2012 #37 Share Posted July 26, 2012 The cruise that we have booked for March 2013 went up $300 to receive a $100 OBC. The one for September didn't change at all. Some sale :(

pe4all Posted July 26, 2012 #40 Share Posted July 26, 2012 I just checked "sale" prices for our Dec. cruise - which I do daily, anyway. Price went up $300 per cabin! This is on top of the $500 per cabin it has gone up since we booked!:eek: As usual, this sale is just for the uninformed! MicksMom Posted July 26, 2012 #42 Share Posted July 26, 2012 Did dummy bookings on 5 different cruises out of Galveston. When I get to the last page (choose cabin #) I get an error saying the cat has sold out. Happened on every every deck on each cruise. Guess I will check back later. Sometimes when we do dummy bookings, the system removes those rooms for a while. Check back and they may show available again.
MsTee Posted July 26, 2012 #44 Share Posted July 26, 2012 This is hardly a sale. I did 'dummy' bookings on two cruises I'm booked on and the prices were the same. I didn't even see the reduced deposit in the dummy booking.
mjfoot99 Posted July 26, 2012 #45 Share Posted July 26, 2012 Do the rates generally go back to previous levels after the sales are over or not? Wondering if I am better off just booking during the sale to pay 50% deposit or wait till later and hope price comes back. Or other option just paying early saver (even though it is only $50 less than past cruiser) and then not worry about prices.

Thanks Mike! It was working a few hours later. Submitted $30pp drop on our Dec cruise! 5th drop in the last 10 weeks.
tampabrat22 Posted July 26, 2012 #47 Share Posted July 26, 2012 I know sales with carnival aren't much of a "sale" but YAY, YAY, YAY for the 50% deposits!! We could book more cruises if the deposits weren't so high ($1200 for 4 of us on the 8 days)! Yeah, I could save up the $ then book, but something always seems to come up. I hope they do this more often and then maybe our goal of doing 3 cruises per year can happen!!
mumofsons Posted July 26, 2012 #48 Share Posted July 26, 2012 I took advantage of the 50% off deposit - it was an easier sale to DH as we just got back from Alaska and after that expense my vacation account was pretty much drained. :) But what a great way to do it! It was easier to just put down $125 each than the regular $250.
ccruisequeen Posted July 26, 2012 #49 Share Posted July 26, 2012 If I booked my Nov cruise now, all the cabins we want would be sold out! Glad we booked back in May!
megmno Posted July 26, 2012 #50 Share Posted July 26, 2012 I thought this was pretty funny: It's especially funny since the date of the cruise is 8/19/2012. You would have to pay the full fare immediately anyway, so it really doesn't matter that they are offering reduced deposits!
