bonniecharlie Posted August 1, 2012 #1 Share Posted August 1, 2012 Hi we were thinking of a week in spain or one of the islands and then pick up a cruise next April, but it is warm enough for that one week, before the cruise thanks
Rare John Bull Posted August 1, 2012 #2 Share Posted August 1, 2012 May or September would be my choice, but April is usually a very pleasant time of year in Mediterranean Spain, the Balearics & Canaries.:) No promises, but generally warm enough but not too hot.:) Reasonably-priced accommodation outside the Easter hols, much cheaper than July/Aug.:) No crowds either.:) JB :)
jocap Posted August 1, 2012 #3 Share Posted August 1, 2012 We've been to Mallorca twice when Easter fell in March- once it was warmish, the next it was really chilly at night. Neither time was the sea warm enough to swim. Have you looked to see what's sailing from Malaga, which is near the south of Spain? Not just the big names, but lines like Pullmantur....MSC and Costa might be a good bet in April, before most lines reposition. NCL Jade usually sails from Barcelona all winter, so she'll be around- and Barca's handy for all sorts of places, including ferries to the Balearic islands. Enjoy planning, Jo. dsrdsrdsr Posted August 2, 2012 #4 Share Posted August 2, 2012 Without knowing what you want to do, it's difficult to say. I've been on holiday to Green Bay in December and it was warm enough for me. The sea won't be that warm, still recovering from winter. For average air temperatures, check Wikipedia - most cities have an entry, and usually with a table of average climate. It may well be too cold for sitting on the beach, but no problem for sightseeing.
sail7seas Posted August 2, 2012 #5 Share Posted August 2, 2012 Marbella in May/June is delightful. We once cruised with stops in Spain and our stop in Malaga, we caught a taxi to Torremolinos and had a great day. We'd spent lots of time in the region on land trips previously so had done the 'required sightseeing'. :) We adore Spain. Had wonderful trips there.
