My friend and I will be arrivng in Seattle about 8pm on a friday night.

we will be staying at the Mayflower park hotel. does anyone know of a resturant within walking distance...one where we can have a relaxing dinner and not pay a fortune (the one at the hotel looks very expensive)

We have stayed at the Mayflower Park, and love the hotel. We also throughly enjoy Andaluca, and don't find it expensive given the size of the portions and quality of the meal. Olivers, the cocktail lounge at the Mayflower Park, has a wonderful fruit and cheese platter. It is large enough that two can easily share it. We have ordered the fruit and cheese platter when we have arrived in the late evening and really didn't want a full dinner.

The Westlake Center also has a large food court on the upper level.

Another vote for the Purple Cafe.

We went for dinner about 8:00 on a Saturday night and the wait was quite long.

Hint:

1. You can go right upstairs and sit at the bar (which overlooks the restaurant and wine collection). It 's a treat watching the cooks prepare the appy's behind the bar.

2. As soon as you check into the hotel, ask the concierge to try and book you a reservation; it might help get you in faster.
