Margaritaville in Grand Cayman

It is very close to the tender piers, just across the street from the old tender pier. The gift shop is down stairs and we usually browse there before returning to the ship. The restaurant is upstairs and like most things on Grand Cayman it is very expensive. The food in my opinion is just ok and not worth anything close to what they charge. There are plenty of other places to eat in Georgetown with interesting menus in the same price range. But that's just us. We are big Buffet fans/Parrot heads but find we are interested in other things in most cruise ports.

Not as crazy as other Margaritavilles I have been to (Ocho Rios and Grand Turk)...they're all a little pricey but this one seemed to be way expensive. We usually stick with the wings, they're always pretty good.

What are the opinions of the past guests that have been? Is it fun? How is the food? Is there anything on the menu that is a "must have"?

May I suggest Calico Jacks. There is nothing cheap in GC but a $5 taxi will take you to a nice little beach bar on seven mile beach ,clean bathrooms ,a nice beach with $5 beach chairs.Always taxis waiting to take people back to the ship.We have not been to this Margaritaville but im sure for lunch and a few drinks it would be $200+ for a family

Grand Cayman is popular for conch fritters(Calico Jacks has them) they are good but you dont really taste much except breading good luck :)

We would never eat at an American "chain restaurant" in a foreign country, like going to Hard Rock, YUK. Margaritaville is so overpriced and mediocre food anyway. You are in the Cayman Islands, try a local restaurant.

Any local restaurants you suggest?

We loved Calico Jacks. Good food, great drinks. We hired a taxi and went to Hell, and a few other places.

The girls loved the Banana Banshee....

Calico Jacks is another American chain. We rarely use CCL to do shore excursions and like to wing it. Last time we were in the Caymans, we got off the ship, talked to a few cab drivers and asked where the locals ate. He brought us to this little diner place, right in town. The food was reasonable and fabulous, ahi tuna sandwich on a fresh baguette, YUM. We can get burgers, chicken wings and fries anywhere at home.

Is this similar to Jack's Shack in Grand Turk? More of a locals place? Sounds like FUN!!!!

Not to be offensive, but nothing looks SPECIAL here, on their menu. I mean, you can get jerked chicken anywhere in the Caribbean.....

I just GOOGLED it, and there ARE a bunch of them throughout the US. Maybe a FLUKE on the name, but it DOES appear to be a chain.

Nope Calico Jack was a famous pirate so the name is used alot.Google is my friend :)

Calico Jacks is where the locals hang out on GC and us cruisers too.Prices are not cheap because the cayman dollar is worth more than the US dollar and its not fancy but we like it

We went to Margaritaville in Grand Cayman after our excursion was cancelled at the last minute. It was good but overpriced because the cayman dollar is worth more than the US dollar. Their bill is confusing because it lists several currency options and be careful, the tip line looks like a recommended amount but its actually already added in your total. We left a tip for the waiter and realized our error later. We decided we wanted to visit these wherever we could as a tradition and have fun memories. We enjoyed Cozumel much better. The atmosphere was fun and the workers interacted with everyone.
