justlaff69 Posted August 15, 2012 #1 Share Posted August 15, 2012 First Got a Flyer for their premier cruises for the fall, but it was the same one the listed in the spring with no new additions: 9/2 Magic Galveston 9/15 Liberty Miami 9/23 Splendor Los Angeles 10/6 Freedom Ft Lauderdale 8 {We tried to book this in March through the PC program and was told it was sold out, interesting that's it's still listed} 10/20 Dream Pt Canaveral Second. To be rated at the tables, you have to have a minimum average bet of $25 for a minimum of 4 hrs/day Found that tidbit when I called to ask about our rating for an upcoming cruise. My husband rated enough on the machines to get their standard package of Choc Strawberrries and Photo Coupon. Not that we go to the casinos to get comps, but if the dh is going to spend time in there, it don't hurt to get a little something back.
USA41018 Posted August 15, 2012 #2 Share Posted August 15, 2012 Got the same offer yesterday. It said you also get $200 casino cash, welcome party, free drinks while gambling. Unfortuntely, I have a cruise booked for October 13 and just can't squeeze in another before then. Also going to DisneyWorld in a couple of weeks. I hope they send me the offer again, this was the first time I had gotten it. On a couple of the cruises listed the past guest rate was as good as the 25% off fun saver. The casino Premier offers have replaced the casino VIP offers, which were so much better. We went on 4 VIP cruises and got back up to $1250 in casino cash on each cruise. I'm gambling and cruising more than ever and they're offering me $200....big deal :(
Rare Tom-n-Cheryl Posted August 15, 2012 #4 Share Posted August 15, 2012 Yep - I saw the $200 and swiftly 86'd the offer. Why Celebrity and NCL can set me up with FREE cabins (sometimes suites valued at up to $6,000+) and Carnival (where I have lost more $ without a doubt) sees fit to pony up $200 ... I play BJ - often multiple black chips, and feel that my play should be in my comfort zone, but also feel that the level of play I give them should correspond to what they are doing for me. Thus, the chance of me playing near my limit on Carnival is unlikely. Why they REFUSE to "get that" is beyond me! Tom

pe4all Posted August 15, 2012 #6 Share Posted August 15, 2012 I also received (finally- after receiving no offers since last summer) the offer today, but it was for $250 casino cash, plus all the rest of the stuff. (25% off, vip party, gift, etc) Unfortunately, can't go due to my teaching job. Guess they didn't offer them this summer cause the cruises were full. Not really much notice for a 9/2 sailing, imho!! Yep - I've told Michael that for some time. With Celebrity they usually give a list several months out (sometimes a full year). Tom

PA Dutchman Posted August 15, 2012 #9 Share Posted August 15, 2012 That 25% says "plus up to 25% off fun select cruise fares, depends on what cabin you book, not everybody will get 25%off the cruise. Some ship balconys are sold out already. Last year I got 1300 casino cash. Now this one is only $250. Don't want to go in Sept or Oct so we will hange loose, last time we got another offer in sept for Jan / Feb . They do play with the price. The rake on the poker table was enough to keep me away.

I have never played at a table which pays 1:1 on BJ. Well, at least that I was aware of -- I will admit to playing at the Golden Nugget around their pool (with scantily clad dealers). It took more than a shoe, but when I finally got a BJ and was paid even money, we left! All the tables I've played at on Celebrity, NCL, and Carnival pay 3:2. They do have some "face up" games as well as some single deck games that pay even money. I have no interest in those. I don't take insurance or even money when the dealer offers either! Rare Tom-n-Cheryl Posted August 15, 2012 #13 Share Posted August 15, 2012 they have a game called Fun 21 which pays 1/1, with some other stupid rules Fun21 (a watered down version of Spanish21) pays 3:2 not only on Blackjack but also if you get a 21 composed of a 6-7-8, a 7-7-7, or a 5+card 21. Additionally: > Any 21 you draw to is paid immediately, before the dealer even has to take a card (or not). > Your BJ beats a dealers BJ > You can surrender - even after doubling down > You can double down on 2, 3, 4 (any number) of cards All of this does come at a "price" however -- there are no queens in the deck (they'll tell you if you ask, but usually don't volunteer it). That means that you must play a little bit different strategy if you don't want to get taken to the cleaners: You HIT your 13 on the dealer's 5 for example. It's a fun game, and the game which I started with - before I decided I liked "regular" BJ better! Tom
