It was changed when Governor "no good" Dan Malloy, came into office and they raised sales tax to 6.35% versus 6%. I miss my no tax under $50.00. I scored a few things and they were even on clearance so even better.

I am originally from NJ and we didn't pay tax on clothes so I was surprised when I moved to CT and had to pay!

 

6.35% isn't high...look at NY and CA.....

CA is where I live now. Although I love it here, the 8.25% or sales tax (I confess that I've stopped keeping track of the exact amount as sometimes the county will add more) is just awful.
