Carnival Magic 8/19/12 Review

We just got off the Magic today and Had a BLAST so here is a little info about our trip.

 

Senior Officers

Captian Stefano Battinelli

Chief Engineer Stefano Gazzolo

Hotel Director Sam Ackrill

Cruise Director James Charlton

 

Embarkation Very fast and smooth since we are VIP we checked in and went straight to board 10 minutes at the most. We embarked on deck 0 since the ship docked backwards. Cabins were ready at 1:00 we had a Cove Balcony I highly recomend this Balcony very close to the water. Safety Drill started at 3:45 we were in the Southern Lights Dining Room very quick and painless. We sailed an hour late since they were still loading luggage and supplies. We had Dinner in the Northern Lights Dining Room and then went to see the Welcome Aboard Show James is very funny during this show. Then it was off to bed for us. Day two coming up soon.

Day 2 Sea Day

 

This was a rainy and cloudy day. We started the day with Breakfast in the dining room very good and tasty. We spent some money in the casino and lost. Went to some of the shops, hang out on our balcony. We had a Cocktail Party to attend at 2 in the Vibe Nightclub note that this room is VERY cold bring a jacket Thanks Susan for arranging this. Afterwards we got ready for Elegant Night we took a couple of pictures then went to the Dining Room for dinner. After Dinner we went to go see the show the Grooveline a 70's show it was very good. Afterwards we called it a night.

Day 3 Sea Day

 

The weather was much better then yesterday sunny skyes. We started off with Breakfast in the Dining room for breakfast today. We went to the hot tubs on the Lanai VERY hot. Afterwards we had arranged a Meet and Greet through John Heald we had about 40 people show up not bad They did a Trivia and gave away medals, champagne and Ships on a Stick. That night We had the Steakhouse VERY good but the courses are HUGE be prepared to leave full so go on a Empty stomach. That night we went to the Comedy show very funny. That night was Red Frog's Caribbean Beach Party we did not go to that but heard it was fun. Then we called it a night.

 

Day 4 Roatan coming up.

We're on Magic next week for Labor Day. Do you recall what some of the evening movies under the stars were?

Day 1 Galveston Nanny Diaries. and Sweet Home Alabama

Day 2 Sea Day Spiderman. and Spiderman 2

Day 3 Sea Day The Adventures of Tin Tin. and War Horse.

Day 4 Roatan For your Eyes Only. and Gold Finger

Day 5 Belize The Legend of Zorno. and Gone in 60 Seconds.

Day 6 Cozumel The Adventures of Tin Tin. and War Horse.

Day 7 Sea Day Bruce Almighty. and A Knights Tale

Ha! Nick is so humble. He forgot to mention that he DESTROYED us in trivia. He was also kind enough to donate one of his trophies to my daughter.

Did you have a regular dining room breakfast or comedy brunch thing? Do they have regular breakfast and lunch in one of the dining rooms?

 

We did both. The Comedy Brunch (9am - 1pm I believe) is on Sea Days and MDR breakfast is on port days (7am - 9am). This change wasn't advertised well as they are each in different dining rooms. If you pay attention it's obvious, but I don't always pay attention at 8am ;)

 

The comedy brunch is really good. I had huevos rancheros, and it was incredible.

 

 

A: Yes, an absolutely fantastic time once again. We re-booked our Triumph trip in November as they've dropped in price $200. hint hint ;)
