Splendor my awesome bar package

6.5 drinks a day minimum to make it worth it. And so many people say they couldn't drink enough to make it worth it but if you drink:

(1) mimosa at breakfast

(1) drink at lunch

(2) drinks while laying out reading on deck

(1) glass of wine with dinner

And (2) drinks after dinner in the bar, casino, comedy club, or my personal favorite- the piano bar

There's your 7 (6.5) drinks {based on tropical/ froo froo drinks at about $7.50}

As long as service is timely and the drinks still taste the same, this sounds like a great deal to me!

I am not a big drinker and this scenario would not even come close to giving me a "buzz" let alone making me intoxicated. I can see this being a good deal IF you are able to drink every day, even if it is just this scenario above. I could drink every day with this scenario but would not want to.

I was wondering and someone did ask but it was not answered to my knowledge, but can you buy the package for just a day or two or do you have to pay for the whole cruise? No way would I want it if I had to pay for the whole cruise.

Evidently alot of you folks do not drink. If I slammed 15 Long Islands (and I am not a Big drinker) I would probably be intoxicated for a while that day. Fifteen beers, not so much. Spread them out over the day with beer, little to no buzz at all. Long Islands over the whole day, possibly a little buzz going on but not like what you non drinkers think with 15 drinks over a whole day!

Can you order buckets of beer on the plan? I like to take one to my balcony and keep it iced. Don't know if I would get my $$$ worth but would not have to be a guessing game of what my bill going to be?

Bonus I couldn't buy a round for friends! To often go up to the bar and everyone wants a drink too....that gets costly.

My understanding is you can only order one drink/beer at a time. Someone already thought of this to take beers off the ship in their backpack. (so they would get their money's worth they said on port days)

what was said is it will be like the soda package.. one at a time.

On splendor now signing up, 15 alcohol drink limit a day and unlimited soda. Gratuity is paid on the 42.95 price not per drink.

I didn't realize this was being offered on the Splendor also--I thought it was just a trial program on the Victory.

Enjoy! And let us know what you think about the program.:)

Thanks for the update! Please let us know after the cruise how the service was with the package. I am very interested in this, but not if I have to wait forever for a drink or if I have to go to the bar and get it myself.

Thanks!!

Why do you think the service would be any different. I don't think they put a sticker on your forehead. The one thing is you will not get buckets of beer, one at a time only. Soft drinks will be in a cup, no cans from what I understand.

Because there is less of an incentive for the bar servers to continually bring you drink after drink if the tips are a set amount. With this plan we are paying $6.45 in tips per day. Just assume someone has 10 drinks in a day, the server is earning $0.65 per drink. If someone is ordering the same drink (based on a drink costing $8.95) without the plan the server is earning $1.35 per drink. If I'm a server, I'm going to gravitate toward the guest who is going to supply me with $1.35 rather than $0.65.

To get your money's worth you're consuming thousands of extra calories each day. Hope you brought bigger clothes with you.

Yeah, that is the thing I'm worried about. It's a lot of "empty" but fun calories until you try to fit into the clothes that barely fit anyway. LOL

Wow so they will just walk the decks begging for someone to order a drink as usual? Why bother with a buck 30 for 2 people or maybe 6 that can order up to 15 ? Nope I would rather walk the deck all day bugging non drinkers. Not to mention the extra tips handed over for a good job.

Endless Soda drinkers seem to never complain? I do see the bartenders roll thier eyes....but what do they make on a soda?

Would you be able to buy the drink package and share it? What is stopping you from buying a drink then going to another bar and buying another drink for someone else?

I think that is why everyone in the cabin has to purchase it. But I suppose you could have friends in another cabin who don't purchase and split the cost.

Because its wrong??.I actually watched a family of 4 do this with one soda card.....good values you are teaching there.

about $700 just for booze for a week!! Wow. I sure don't want to be near a group of people who are having the 15th drinks that day. I would think this program would make most people drink more to get the most for the money attitude. Or maybe after day two they are to hung over to come out of the cabin! That is a lot of booze and a lot of cash. Now if you have friends in another cabin-I could share that package and make it worth it. People will find a way to share this. If you can break a rule-Carnival people will find a way!

I'll see later this month how it goes on our cruise.

Relax and enjoy.

much cheaper to order bottles from their Bon Voyage dept.

Totally agree - $50 spread over 5 days or 7 days seems to work cheaper and with the soda card you also get unlimited mixers and juices. So that brings my bill to about $100 - and i can still enjoy my mimosa :D

Thanks for the confirmation. We'll be purchasing this next week.:D I'll just keep some $1's with me for the occasional tip when I'm not getting my own drink. Don't want to short change the bar service waiters.
