Ocean Conditions in November-December

I have cruised the Mediterranean in the summer when the waters were calm.

Does anyone know how the seas compare in November-December? Are the waters much more rough?

It can be choppy in the Med in the winter, but generally it is not too bad as it is not tidal.

Actually our favorite time of year to cruise there......

 

First cruise we left from Civitavecchia the day after Thanksgiving and did a 9 night repo ending in Barcelona on Dec. 2nd. The only area that was slightly rough was between Toulon and Barcelona in an area the Capt. announced was usually always a bit rough due to currents......otherwise smooth sailing.

 

Our third cruise we also left from Civi on Nov. 7th and did an 11 night Eastern. No rough seas there either.

 

Mother Nature is fickle tho. There can be a storm anytime.

You just never know. It may be calm or a little choppy.

 

I happen to prefer October but if that is not doable try November. It is not about the seas but just more about the overall weather including temperature.
