This excursion isn't available for our cruise on Freedom March 2013 - anyone know if they have stopped doing this trip?!

It's not available for my 12/8 Independence sailing either. It's still on the main Labadee page. I hope they still have it. It's a favorite place of mine.

We are new to Royal Caribbean and are looking at the Castaway at Malfini excursion and have some questions about the restrictions.

 

From excursion description:

 

Restrictions:

Minimum Weight: 20 pounds, Maximum Weight: 250 pounds

Minimum Age: 12 years, Maximum Age: 80 years

 

Does anyone know why there is a weight restriction and what the restriction is for?

Probably for the boat that takes you there....smaller vessels can only carry so much weight.

Can anyone tell me more about this excursion? Is there restrooms available, lounge chairs, a way to get back if we choose before the 3 hours is up? Considering this as possible excursion on January cruise.

Yes there are restrooms and lounge chairs available! They also give you floaty mats for the water! No there is no way to get back before the three hours are up... The boat that drops you leaves and comes back later. This was my favorite excursion on my last cruise... absolute heaven. I'd love to spend the whole day there!

Check out the sandbar island tours too. I'm been three times. They are a great alternative to the crowds in Labadee. The beaches are crazy beautiful too.
