Bar&Beach Posted September 10, 2012 #1 Share Posted September 10, 2012 We've heard that TA's might take longer to disembark than a regular cruise. Would a flight time after 12 noon be OK, or do we have to look for something later?
Padraic Posted September 10, 2012 #2 Share Posted September 10, 2012 A flight out of FLL around 12 noon should be fine. We have ended transatlantic cruises at Port Everglades and, although we don't have to fly home, our limo gets us home to Boca Raton (about 25 miles north of FLL) by 10:30 AM. localady Posted September 10, 2012 #3 Share Posted September 10, 2012 You should be fine with a noon or later flight. :D I would not take anything before noon. The trip to the airport via cab is 15 minutes maximum. You might elect carry off your luggage as they are allowed to go first.
Krazy Kruizers Posted September 10, 2012 #4 Share Posted September 10, 2012 A flight after Noon is perfact. Unless you hit high seas crossing the Atlantic, there is no reason why the ship should be late or that dismbakation would take a long time. sail7seas Posted September 10, 2012 #5 Share Posted September 10, 2012 If you are flying domestic, anything after 12 noon should be okay unless something out of the ordinary happens. If you are flying International, you will need an extra hour as International flights require check in 3 hours pre flight. There is no indication in your post where you are from/going. :)
Rare kazu Posted September 10, 2012 #6 Share Posted September 10, 2012 The only thing that slows things down in Fort Lauderdale's disembarkation is the customs agents. If they don't have enough - it's a horror story. Even with that into account a 12 noon flight is just fine. (wish I could find one). Piece of cake - book it and enjoy your cruise! Should we cancel and book a later flight? We are Canadian Citizens if that makes a difference!! Thanks!! :D

Should we cancel and book a later flight? We are Canadian Citizens if that makes a difference!! Thanks!! :D You should be fine honestly:D You'll be at the airport in plenty of time and to the US is not truly International (and yes, I'm Canadian too). We always get stuck with darn 2:30 flight - we are easily at the airport by 10:30 and we are basically killing time:D Other times we have been there as early as 9:30 (dumb! dumb!) I assume (big thing to do) you are flying AC - I believe their regs for US to Canada are 2 hours. It's an easy ride to the airport - the only worry are the check in lines - but if you time it right they are not bad at all. You should be fine with that flight. I can never get it - if I could I would grab it:D But then of course I have to wait for my puddle hopper to get to Saint john:p
