we are going on the Westerdam this sat on an Alaskan cruise. We had a guarantee outside room HH, checked the. Reservation and have been upgraded o VA yeah! Only think is it is a handicapped cabin. A obstructed view to a balconey is wonderful. Anyone had this cabin before? Is it any bigger? Any responses appreciated. First time on HAL.

The handicapped VA cabins are all the way forward on Upper Verandah deck. It definitely is larger...You might find a review/pictures of it in Joanie's stickie on HAL cabins at the top of the page. If you are not comfortable being all the way forward, you might ask if there is another VA cabin you can move to. EM

We were in an 8th deck Accessible room on the Zuiderdam. It is really large and has a unique curved veranda. The shower is a roll in shower so the entire floor goes to a drain. No big deal, but definitely ask for extra towels to make your own little lip on the floor. No tub.

The only problem we had was on our last night. Rough seas and increased speed back to Fort Lauderdale meant rough ride!! That's the only time I was sick.

I'd keep the room!! You'll love it!! Verandah is great!!! Enjoy your cruise!!!

Welcome to Cruise Critic.

Joanie's sticky shows a lot of cabins for all the ships.

Since you know your cabin number -- check out for pcitures here (if you don't see your cabin number pictures on the Westerdam -- also check out her sister ships -- the Zuiderdam, Oosterdam and Noordam:
