1980dory Posted September 15, 2012 #1 Share Posted September 15, 2012 What happens to my OBC if I have money remaining at the end of the cruise? Is it refunded to me? Is it forfeited? Can I carry it over to my next cruise?

Wine-O Posted September 15, 2012 #4 Share Posted September 15, 2012 It's gone, forfeited . Go to the gift stores and charge something No, that's not true. There are different kinds of OBC. OBC from Celebrity in any which way you get it, is use or lose. That OBC is the first that is deducted from your account. Can be used for gratuities, spa, shops, etc. OBC given to you by your TA is like cash. If you don't use it, it will be refunded to you by way of your credit card account. Rare cruisestitch Posted September 15, 2012 #5 Share Posted September 15, 2012 There is refundable OBC -- noted as OBC-R on your SeaPass account, There is also non-refundable OBC -- noted as OBC-R If you have both kinds, the ship will use the non-refundable first. If you have non-refundable left over, you can withdraw it from the casino at a fee of 5%. If you have refundable left over, it will be credited to your credit card account, although this can take a little while
Knickfanatik Posted September 15, 2012 #6 Share Posted September 15, 2012 What cruisestitch said, but i think the casino vig is up to 5%. Also, our credit card was refunded within days. Lucky, I guess.
Rare cruisestitch Posted September 15, 2012 #7 Share Posted September 15, 2012 Thank you for correcting my info -- you are right -- the fee is now 5% and I wasn't too late to edit my post accordingly.
Happy Cruiser 6143 Posted September 15, 2012 #8 Share Posted September 15, 2012 Well in my view, paying the casino 5% beats the heck out of losing the money entirely.
Nebr.cruiser Posted September 15, 2012 #9 Share Posted September 15, 2012 We've always just gotten any leftover OBC back in cash at the purser's desk--maybe we're just lucky?

So are both the refundable and non-refundable noted as OBC-R ? Rather confusing me thinks!
fleckle Posted September 15, 2012 #12 Share Posted September 15, 2012 Thanks for your info. So are both the refundable and non-refundable noted as OBC-R ? Rather confusing me thinks! No, that was most likely just a typo. Refundable is noted as OBC-R Non-refundable is noted as OBC-N If you know that you will be getting non-refundable OBC, in addition to those famous martinis it is very easy to use it up on gratuities or excursions or spa treatments or specialty restaurants or wine or photos or laundry or internet time or buying just about anything in the onboard shops. But they would not let me use it for a deposit on a future cruise.
karpela Posted September 15, 2012 #13 Share Posted September 15, 2012 We have always managed to get ours back in cash too.
Rare cruisestitch Posted September 15, 2012 #14 Share Posted September 15, 2012 OH my typo fingers were busy last night. Caught one in time to fix it and then missed the other one! OBC -R refundable OBC -N non-refundable If you have OBC-R you can get it back in cash at Guest Relations, or if you do nothing, it will come back on your credit card.
