Whale Watching Excursion

You might be just a bit too early for the official whalewatchseason in P. Vallarta. In general it starts around Dec. 10.

Which doesnot mean there will be no whales, but no organised tours yet, to protect the animals.

thanks for the info!!

Any certain tour in Cabo you recommend?

Trip Advisor has a number of whale watching reviews for Cabo. The one that seems to come up most often with favorable reviews is "Whale Watch Cabo".

The whales that migrate to Cabo are a different species than those that migrate to Banderas Bay (Puerto Vallarta).

The whales in the Cabo area typically arrive mid-to-late November and hang around until mid-March. There is no "season" at Cabo.

The whales that head for Vallarta also arrive in mid-to-late November. They can often be seen while on various water based excursions; however, the excursion companies can not run "whale watching" tours specifically designed to make a close approach to the whale until roughly mid-December. This is to allow the whales to get comfortable with their breeding grounds again. These whale have left the bay by mid-to-late March.

Enjoy!
